Moi, hej, hei, hæ!

Congratulations for the opening of 17th Miyukino snow-theatre international film festival. It is our pleasure to send our greetings to you all. We would especially like to thank the organisers and everyone who’s hard work has again made this festival possible.

This year 22 Nordic short films will be screened on the beautiful snow screen. Nordic movies are renowned for their distinctive storytelling, visual aesthetics and cultural depth, and the films chosen for Miyukino are no exception. Elements such as nature, strong female characters, dark humour or explorations of existential themes give Nordic films a distinctive voice that resonates with audiences worldwide, often making them compelling and thought-provoking experiences. We hope you enjoy not only the films but also the special lectures and discussion with the Nordic creators.

So, let us wish you all enjoyable and memorable experiences in the company of Nordic cinema!

Sincerely,
Jarl Frijs-Madsen, Ambassador of Denmark to Japan
Kristin Iglum, Ambassador of Norway to Japan
Viktoria Li, Ambassador of Sweden to Japan
Stefán Haukur Jóhannesson, Ambassador of Iceland to Japan
